Integrated Bodywork

what is integrated bodywork?
Integrated bodywork is a full-body session that brings together the range of modalities within the RADA approach. The longer session format creates space to move beyond immediate symptom relief and explore the deeper patterns that shape how the body holds stress, tension and experience.
Rather than focusing on a single area of discomfort, the session works with the body as an interconnected system — including the musculoskeletal and nervous systems, connective tissue, fluid body, breath, emotions and energetic patterns. There is no fixed treatment sequence or predetermined outcome; the session responds to what is present and follows the body’s priorities.
Depending on what emerges, the session may draw from remedial massage, biodynamic craniosacral therapy (BCST), myofascial release, trigger point therapy, lymphatic support, breathwork, sound healing, heart coherence and nervous system regulation. These are not treated as separate modalities, but as different ways of accessing and working with the same interconnected system.
How it works and what it can do for you?
Integrated bodywork works across multiple layers rather than viewing physical symptoms in isolation. Muscular tension, connective tissue, breath, nervous system regulation, emotional responses, subconscious patterns and energetic holding can all influence one another. This allows the session to explore not only where a symptom is experienced, but the deeper conditions that may be contributing to why it persists.
Sometimes these patterns relate to recent stress, injury or illness; at other times, their roots extend much further back. Early life experiences, childhood trauma and long-standing protective responses can influence how we breathe, brace, move, relate and respond to stress. Patterns that were once adaptive can continue long after the circumstances that created them have changed.
The work does not force the body towards a particular outcome or search for trauma that is not present. Instead, it follows what emerges within the session, allowing deeper layers to be explored at a pace the system can integrate. As long-standing patterns of tension, protection and adaptation begin to soften, there is greater opportunity for regulation, awareness and new ways of responding.
Integrated bodywork supports
Pain, Tension & Physical Conditions
Chronic or persistent pain, back pain, neck and shoulder pain, hip and pelvic tension, muscular aches and tension, joint discomfort, headaches and migraines, TMJ and jaw tension, repetitive strain, postural tension, restricted movement, sports and overuse tension, and recovery from injury.
This may be particularly supportive where tension continues to return, moves between different areas, or feels connected to broader patterns within the body.
Chronic & Complex Health Conditions
Fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, persistent pain conditions, hypermobility-related pain and tension, autoimmune conditions, stress-related illness, and other ongoing or complex health conditions.
When symptoms are long-standing, the focus can extend beyond an isolated symptom to consider the interconnected patterns surrounding the person’s experience.
Chronic Stress, Burnout & Nervous System Dysregulation
Chronic stress, burnout, anxiety, overwhelm, nervous system dysregulation, hyperarousal, difficulty relaxing, shutdown, fatigue, exhaustion, sleep difficulties and heightened sensitivity.
Long periods of stress can become reflected throughout the body, affecting tension, breathing, energy, sleep and the ability to settle and recover.
Trauma, PTSD & Protective Patterns
PTSD, C-PTSD, childhood and developmental trauma, histories of abuse or neglect, attachment wounds, hypervigilance, dissociation, difficulty feeling safe in the body, and long-standing protective or survival responses.
Trauma can be expressed through both mind and body, including bracing, tension, changes in breathing, heightened sensitivity, shutdown or disconnection. Where relevant, sessions may also explore childhood experiences, inner-child patterns and protective responses that developed earlier in life.
Breath, Emotional Holding & Disconnection
Restricted or shallow breathing, diaphragm and chest tension, chronic bracing, emotional overwhelm, emotional holding, numbness, difficulty connecting with physical sensations, or feeling disconnected from the body.
Sometimes there is no single symptom to address. A person may simply feel disconnected from themselves, unable to fully relax, or aware that they are carrying something they have difficulty putting into words.
Recovery, Rest & Reconnection
Recovery following injury or illness, physical or emotional exhaustion, grief and loss, major life transitions, prolonged stress and depletion.
This work may also support people who feel they need space to slow down, rest, reconnect with their body and allow their system time to recover.
Deeper & Long-Standing Patterns
Recurring symptoms, patterns that repeatedly return, or issues that have felt difficult to shift despite previous approaches.
Depending on what is relevant for the individual, this may include subconscious patterns, learned beliefs, childhood experiences, inner-child work, emotional associations, family and generational patterns, protective responses, and symbolic or spiritual material.
For those whose personal framework includes it, this may also include past-life material. These perspectives are explored only when relevant to the individual rather than being imposed as an explanation.
